This book documents Glass Ridge House, the personal home of Amanda Gunawan and Joel Wong, founders of OWIU Design and OWIU Goods, set within a quiet cul-de-sac in La Cañada Flintridge, Los Angeles. Originally designed by Ray Kappe in 1973, the house was a fated discovery, forming the foundation for a transformation that honors its architectural legacy while introducing a new, personal layer.
Structured around themes of bridging Eastern and Western influences, nature as material, and spaces designed with intention, the 100-page volume explores how landscape, water, light, and craft shape daily life. Through photography by Austin John, Pablo Veiga, and Justin Chung, Glass Ridge House is presented as a living sanctuary—an evolving retreat that balances preservation and transformation, shaped by memory, ritual, and place.
Edited by Molly Mandell and James Burke, with art direction and design by Studio8585.
